Overview

Sunday Sluggers ("the App") is a baseball and softball scoring application. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. You may optionally provide a display name.

Player Profile Information

You may choose to provide:

• Name (first and last)
• Jersey number
• Profile photo (stored securely in cloud storage)
• Batting/throwing preference
• Fielding positions
• Name pronunciation (for the PA announcer feature)
• Walk-up song selection (title, artist — sourced from iTunes)

Game Data

When games are scored using the App, we collect:

• Game scores, at-bat outcomes, and play-by-play data
• Player statistics derived from game data
• MVP votes and post-game interview responses

Device Information

We collect:

• Push notification tokens (to send game notifications)
• Device type (for Live Activity support)

We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Contacts or address book data
• Browsing history
• Data from other apps
• Advertising identifiers

How We Use Your Information

• Game scoring and statistics: To record games, calculate stats, and display leaderboards
• AI-generated recaps: Game data is sent to an AI service (Anthropic Claude) to generate post-game recaps. No personal information beyond player names and game statistics is included.
• Walk-up song announcements: Player names and jersey numbers are used to generate PA announcements via text-to-speech. Audio is cached locally on the scorer's device.
• Push notifications: To notify you about game events, MVP voting, and recaps
• Profile display: To show your information to other players in your league

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Database access is controlled through row-level security policies that restrict access to authorized users.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database and authentication hosting
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-generated game recaps and interview questions
• ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech for PA announcer feature
• Apple iTunes Search API: Walk-up song search and preview
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Push notifications (iOS)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Push notifications (Android)

These services process data as described above. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Data Retention

Your account and game data are retained as long as your account is active. Player statistics persist across seasons to maintain career records. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Sunday Sluggers does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You may:

• Access your personal data through the App
• Update your profile information at any time
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App or on our website.
